Late Gothic manor of the episcopal curia on Cathedral Square, rebuilt in 1568 in the Renaissance style.
The Bishop's Palace stands on Cathedral Square in Kamień Pomorski, next to the Cathedral of St John the Baptist. It is a late Gothic manor of the former episcopal curia, rebuilt in 1568 in the Renaissance style and listed in the heritage register.
The building was erected in the second half of the 15th century beside the Kamień cathedral, on the site of an earlier 14th-century manor of the curia of the Pomeranian bishops. Documents show that in the 14th to 17th centuries it served as the seat of the curia.
In 1568 the building was thoroughly rebuilt. The interior and the elevations were changed, and the gable was covered with tracery that echoes the decoration of the residences of the House of Griffin dukes.
After reconstruction from the damage of the Second World War, a public library was set up in the palace. It now houses the church archive and the base of church-affiliated groups. In summer the interiors are used as exhibition rooms.
