A late Baroque palace from the end of the 18th century in Parsowo, the seat of the von Gerlach family, today a care home, viewed from the outside.
The palace in Parsowo is a late Baroque two-storey residence from the end of the 18th century, located in a village in Koszalin County. Today it houses a care home for older people, so it is viewed from the outside, together with the surrounding park.
Parsowo appears in a document of Duke Casimir I from 1172. In the 13th century the estate passed to the von Parsow family, and later to the von Heydenbreck family. In 1764-1772 the whole estate was bought back by Friedrich Wilhelm von Gerlach, and the present appearance of the complex is owed to his descendants.
The palace has end pavilions, and at the corners massive buttresses in the form of octagonal towers. On the axis of the façade a semicircular projection with the main entrance juts out, above which a cartouche with the von Gerlach coat of arms has been placed. On the garden side there is a porch. After 1974 renovation of the building began.
In the park grow a copper beech and a European ash about 170 years old, three fused silver firs about 200 years old and a common yew about 250 years old. Nearby stands the Church of St Peter and St Paul the Apostles in Parsowo.
