A summer artists' village near Rewal: concerts, improvised performances, stories for children, workshops and galleries in historic buildings.
Janowo Artists' Village is a summer cultural centre in the village of Janowo near Rewal (Karnice municipality, Gryfice County), operating since 2018 in revitalised village buildings from the 18th century. Throughout the summer holidays it hosts concerts, recitals, monodramas, cabarets, stand-up shows, repertory and improvised performances, as well as workshops, author meetings and exhibition openings.
Performances are given on two stages: the Summer Stage in a tent and the Chamber Stage. A large part of the repertoire consists of improvised performances in which the audience decides the action. There are also stories for children, including improvised ones in which the children invent the setting and the characters. Between performances one can look into a gallery with exhibitions, a café with homemade cake and a second-hand bookshop and bookstore.
Not far away, about 1.3 km, stands the Palace in Dreżewo, and in Trzęsacz (about 4.7 km) lie the ruins of the church above the cliff.
