About Palace in Dreżewo

A neo-Gothic palace from the 19th century in Dreżewo with a two-part tower and the von Bonin coat of arms in the projection, falling into ruin, viewed from the outside.

The palace in Dreżewo is a neo-Gothic residence from the 19th century, standing on a walled embankment in a village near Trzęsacz. According to the Wikipedia entry it is falling into ruin, so it is assessed from the outside only.

The building and its history

The palace was built in the 19th century for the commercial councillor Schlutow in the neo-Gothic style, and in 1875 the councillor sold the village to Eduard von Bonin. Until 1945 the building belonged to the von Bonin family, whose coat of arms can be seen in the projection above the middle window of the first floor, under the crenellation.

The building has a square double tower with crenellation, a projection on the axis of the façade and elevations crowned with false battlements. A park with sweet chestnuts and ginkgos extends around it. The area of the settlement belongs to the Trzebiatów Coast special bird protection area.

Not far away stand the ruins of the church in Trzęsacz, about 3 km further on.
