A steppe reserve from 1973 on the Morenka hill near Kołbaskowo, with a viewpoint over the Oder valley.
The Wzgórze Widokowe nad Międzyodrzem nature reserve protects the conical hill of Morenka on the steep edge of the Oder valley, in Kołbaskowo municipality. At the top there is a viewpoint with a stone seat, from which the Oder valley can be seen from Szczecin to Gryfino.
The reserve was established on 23 January 1973. It lies in Police County, on the summit of the Wał Stobniański ridge, on the south side of the A6 motorway. It covers about 4.4 ha, and supervision of it is exercised by the Regional Nature Conservator in Szczecin. The area belongs to the Gryfino Forest District.
The aim of protection is the landscape and natural, geomorphological and geobotanical values. Morenka rises about 35 metres above its surroundings.
The slopes are covered with xerothermic vegetation, that is, heat-loving vegetation typical of dry steppe sites. The grasslands support protected and rare species, among them hair feather grass, small pasqueflower, sandy everlasting and Jurinea cyanoides (strzęplica polska).
A steep path leads to the viewpoint from the north side of the hill. The panorama takes in the Oder valley with the Oder floodplain, and in the distance the Lower Oder Valley Landscape Park. Two cycling routes run nearby: the White-tailed Eagle Trail and the Village Churches Trail of Kołbaskowo Municipality.
