A cylindrical brick tower in the town walls of Goleniów by the Ina River, formerly a gunpowder store and a prison.
The Gunpowder Tower, also called the Guard Tower or the Prison Tower, is a cylindrical tower forming part of the defensive walls of Goleniów. It was built of red brick, crowned with a conical top, and the heritage register dates it to the 14th century.
The tower stands at a corner of the walls, above the Ina River, by Lower Secondary School No. 1 and a small park. It formerly served penitentiary functions, hence the name Prison Tower, and also served as a gunpowder store. It can be seen from the outside. It is now closed and has no interiors open to visitors.
The tower is a fragment of the same defence system as the town walls. Nearby also stand the Mint Tower and the Wolin Gate.
