Neo-Gothic brick coastal rescue station from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in Międzyzdroje, now with a restaurant, close to the beach.
The former coastal rescue station stands in Międzyzdroje at Promenada Gwiazd 13, about 10 metres from the beach. The neo-Gothic red brick building dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and is entered in the heritage register under number A-246 of 2005.
The station served to help with accidents at sea. The solid red brick structure is covered with a slate roof, and parts of the roof frame in the Swiss style can be seen in its construction. From 1950 the building was administered by the Szczecin Maritime Office, which set up utility rooms and stores in it, and later also a garage for equipment used to reinforce coastal dunes. The historic station has for years been a subject for painters and photographers.
The building now houses the Port restaurant. Its website says that the interior has kept a lot of old red brick with wooden decoration, and that there is a terrace with a view on the sea side. Current opening hours can be checked on the restaurant's website.
Nearby are the Walk of Fame (about 400 m) and Kawcza Góra (about 600 m).
