A villa from 1902 in Pogodno, built for Herman Schultz to a design by Paul Krekow and entered in the register in 2009.
The villa stands in the Pogodno estate, on a large plot on the western side of Marii Konopnickiej Street. It was built in 1902 and entered in the heritage register in 2009. The Wikipedia entry describes the style as stylistic pluralism with Art Nouveau elements, and zabytek.pl as Art Nouveau.
The villa was commissioned by the postal assistant Herman Schultz, who was one of the first to buy a plot here in 1901, on what was then Duckenstrasse. The design was made in 1901 by the Szczecin master builder Paul Krekow, and construction began in spring 1902. The land then belonged to the village of Krzekowo, which was incorporated into Szczecin in 1911.
The villa has a cellar and two storeys, with a partly used attic. It has a plan close to a rectangle measuring 11.75 by 11.20 metres. The projecting bay was very ornate and carried a coat-of-arms shield with a relief of Masonic symbols, a compass and a set square. The plot is closed off on the street side by a wrought-iron fence from the time of construction. According to the Wikipedia entry, it is the oldest building on this street with its original form and façade decoration preserved, standing on a plot whose size has been unchanged since 1936.
After the Second World War the villa stood uninhabited for several years, and from the early 1950s tenants lived in it. Of the former furnishings, the door joinery and the ceiling stucco in three rooms on the upper floor remain.
