About Palace in Kłodzino (Pyrzyce County)

An abandoned palace in Kłodzino near Przelewice, rebuilt in 1846 in Classicist forms, today in ruins.

Kłodzino Palace (Przelewice municipality, Pyrzyce County) is an abandoned, two-storey building on a rectangular plan, with a projecting bay at the front under a small canopy and a gable roof with hipped ends. It is entered in the heritage register (numbers A-1203 of 1991 and A-1690 of 2017).

The building

The Encyclopedia of West Pomerania dates the palace to the second half of the 18th century, in the spirit of the late Baroque, and gives rebuilding in 1846 in Classicist forms and a garden veranda added in the early 20th century. The Wikipedia entry on the village speaks of a Neo-Baroque palace from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the heritage register of an eclectic style from the same period. A thorough renovation from 1975 was interrupted in 2000 and the building is falling into ruin.

The estate

Kłodzino (German: Kloxin) was a fief of the von Küssow family, and in the 19th century it belonged to the Thorein family, then to the von Randow family, in whose hands it remained until at least 1929. After the war a state farm operated here, and since 1998 the estate has had a private owner. By the palace there is an overgrown park with rich tree stands, including Caucasian fir and London plane.
