About Palace in Margowo

A complex of two adjoining manor houses from the late 18th century, one of palace character, with a tower with false crenellation and a landscape park.

Margowo Palace is a residence made up of two adjoining manor houses, one of which has the character of a palace. The older manor house dates from the end of the 18th century (the heritage register gives the year 1772) and was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century, and next to it a second one was built in the early 20th century. Both buildings have two storeys and projections with stepped or semi-oval tops, and at the corner of the left-hand one stands a square tower with false crenellation. The brick complex belonged to the von Elbe family.

The park

The residence is surrounded by a landscape park of 4.7 ha with a pond, which merges into forest. The park is very neglected, and the whole complex is entered in the heritage register (no. 437 of 1963 and no. A-1340 of 2014).
