Late Baroque palace of the 18th century in Rościn, heavily dilapidated, with a historic landscape park of about 8 ha.
The palace in Rościn is a late Baroque residence in the southern part of the village, surrounded by a park. The Wikipedia entry describes it as heavily dilapidated (its state in 2010), so it is a building to be viewed from outside.
The palace was built in the second half of the 18th century by the von Bredow family, and in the second half of the 19th century it was rebuilt. It is of masonry, two-storeyed, on a rectangular plan, with a mansard roof covered with tiles. At the east it has a facade with Neo-Classical window surrounds and cornices, and in its middle a projection topped with a tympanum. At the sides there are single-storey extensions. Formerly in front of the palace there was a semi-oval drive to the farm courtyard.
The park covers about 8 hectares on the south side of the palace and the former farm. It was laid out in the second half of the 18th century as a Baroque, regular one, and in the 19th century it was transformed into a landscape one. The entrance gate of a former park building has survived, and in the eastern part lies an oval pond. The old trees are mainly horse chestnuts, oaks, limes, beeches and ashes. By the palace grows a lime with a circumference of 450 centimetres, and in the eastern part of the park a pedunculate oak with a circumference of 440 centimetres.
