A Neoclassical palace from the early 19th century, now in ruins, in an 18th-century park with an avenue of chestnut trees, in Karlino municipality.
Karścino Palace is a Neoclassical brick palace from the early 19th century, which is now in ruins. It stands in the manor park in the village of Karścino in Karlino municipality, not far from the church.
The building was set on the axis of the park, and a drive about 200 m long led from the road to the entrance. In the central part of the façade, in the tympanum, there was a cartouche with the coat of arms of the von Gaudecker family, owners of the estate; it disappeared in 2011. In front of the palace there is a large pond and the remains of lawns. After the Second World War it housed a state farm office and flats.
The palace park, covering about 5 ha, was laid out in the second half of the 18th century and in the 19th century was reshaped into a landscape park with Romantic elements. An avenue of chestnut trees leads towards the church in Karścino. Spruces, copper beeches and weeping ash trees once grew here; after the war the ponds dried up and some of the exotic trees were cut down.
