Red-brick town hall of 1852 on Wolności Square, seat of the town authorities, with a bugle call from the tower at noon and entry during office hours.
Szczecinek Town Hall stands at Wolności Square 13 and is still the seat of the town authorities. It was built in 1852 from red brick. The building is a working office, but visitors can enter during its opening hours.
The building has one upper floor, a rectangular plan and a hipped roof of red tiles. Sources describe the style differently: one speaks of eclecticism with mostly neo-Romanesque elements, another of a neo-Gothic style with Romanesque elements. On the main façade a projecting bay rises into an octagonal tower, topped by a square tower bearing the date of construction. The gable walls end in a crenellated parapet on an arcaded cornice, and polygonal turrets with small lanterns stand at the corners.
A bugle call sounds from the tower every day at noon, broadcast from loudspeakers mounted on all four sides of the tower.
Visitors can enter during the opening hours of the Municipal Office. Inside there is a small courtyard with a glass roof, stained glass windows in the conference room and a plaque commemorating the flood of 1888, placed at the height the water reached.
Closest, about 100 m from the town hall, stands the tower of St Nicholas Church.
About 200 m further on is the Regional Museum in Szczecinek.
