A two-storey brick mill from 1894 in Stargard, in operation until 1999, now a hotel.
The Small Mill at Gdańska Street 5 is a two-storey red-brick building, built in 1894 in Stargard. It stands on the Krąpiel canal, which powered its machinery. Today it houses a hotel, and the building itself is a monument entered in the register.
The mill was built by the Stargard Agricultural Union of Merchants and Sellers, on the site of an older mill that had burned down. From 1889 the land belonged to the Karow family. In the interwar period the mill ground about 20 tonnes of grain a day. It was powered by water from the dug-out Krąpiel canal, and production continued until 1999.
In 1999 the building was bought by a private owner and adapted as a hotel. Thanks to this, the industrial structure with its brick façades does not stand empty. It is entered in the heritage register as a mill complex.
