About Stanisław Groński Trail

Blue trail through Beech Forest from Szczecin-Zdroje to Zdunowo, with a hillfort and nature reserves.

The Stanisław Groński Trail is a blue walking trail of a suburban character in the Szczecin Landscape Park “Puszcza Bukowa”. It is 38.2 km long. Its patron (1907-1957) was a Szczecin mountaineer and a pioneer of tourism and waymarking work in the Szczecin Land.

Route

The trail begins under the viaduct at the Szczecin Zdroje halt, at Walecznych Street. It passes the Chojna hillfort (2.6 km), the natural monument Groński Boulder, the “Oaks of Bolesław the Wrymouth” (4.3 km), the hill Lisica with a mast on Kołowo (10.4 km), Kołowo, Lake Plebanka, Binowo, Lake Dereń and the forest settlement of Kołówko (23.8 km). It ends in Szczecin-Zdunowo, at the railway halt.

Along the route lie the Kołowskie Parowy Nature Reserve (about 2 km), the arboretum in Glinna and Lake Binowskie.

Practical information

  • Waymarks: a blue stripe on a white field.
  • Start: Szczecin Zdroje station, end: Szczecin Zdunowo halt, so both can be reached by rail. The trail can be shortened, because it crosses other routes.
  • The description of the route is from the state of 2007.
