An ethnographic branch of the Museum in Koszalin in Jamno: a reconstruction of a 19th-century farmstead and workshops.
The Jamno Farmstead in Koszalin is part of the Ethnography Department of the Museum in Koszalin. It lies in Jamno, in the northern part of the city. It presents artefacts connected with the Jamno culture.
The permanent exhibition shows a reconstruction of part of a historic Jamno farmstead from the 19th century: a cottage and barn built in half-timbered construction, with reed-thatched roofs.
Throughout the year workshops are held here: ceramics, embroidery, weaving (small forms), polychrome painting on wood and block printing on fabric. In the festive season the theme is annual traditions, for example Christmas tree decorations, painted Easter eggs and Easter palms. The museum also runs museum lessons about the former inhabitants of Jamno and about the settlers who came to live here after 1945. Since 2004 the Ethnography Department has organised the open-air Jamno Fair with handicrafts and performances by folk groups.
