About Pomeranian Wall Museum

Museum of militaria and uniforms from the Second World War on the site of a former barracks in Wałcz, in four parts, which also looks after a barracks bunker.

The Pomeranian Wall Museum in Wałcz is located on National Road No. 22, at the entrance to the town from the direction of Człuchów, on the site of a former military barracks. The collections include uniforms, weapons and equipment from the Second World War, and the exhibition is divided into four parts.

Four parts of the exhibition

The first part concerns the beginning of the construction of the Pomeranian Wall and the German army in 1934-1945. It shows, among other things, motorcycles, a chainsaw from 1943, MG 08 and MG 42 machine guns, an artillery rangefinder, a collection of winter boots, and MP 40 and StG 44 rifles. The second part is devoted to the Red Army in 1945 and recreates the atmosphere of Soviet propaganda slogans written on the walls of German houses. The third tells of the 1st Army of the Polish Army in 1943-1945 and shows a soldier's uniforms, weapons and equipment. The fourth concerns the prisoner-of-war camps in the Wałcz Land.

According to the Wikipedia entry, the exhibition is constantly being enlarged, and more than 40 exhibits are waiting in storage for restoration. The museum also looks after a bunker on the barracks grounds.
