About Palace in Zajezierze

Brick palace in Zajezierze with a landscape park, the former seat of the Borcke family.

The palace in Zajezierze stands in Łobez municipality in Łobez County and is entered in the heritage register together with the manor complex. The register dates the building to the 18th century and describes it as a brick manor house. The Wikipedia entry on the village speaks of a palace from the 17th century. The Borcke family owned the village from the Middle Ages until 1778 and built a fortified castle here.

Owners and the park

After the Borckes the new owner of the palace was the Rosenberg-Gruszczyński family, from which came August von Rosenberg-Gruszczyński (1770-1836). A landscape park extends by the palace. The village also has an artificial lake, Nowe Zajezierze, and a moraine hill, the highest in the municipality (139.3 m above sea level), which gives a view of the lake, the village and the forests of the Drawsko Lakeland.
