The ruin of the Neoclassical palace of the Borcke family with surviving cellars and a naturalistic park.

The ruin of the Neoclassical palace in Kąkolewice in Węgorzyno municipality is entered in the heritage register together with the palace complex. History of the estate

Kąkolewice, formerly Kankelfitz, was in the 18th century a fief of the Pomeranian Borcke family. Ernst August Philipp von Borcke was born here in 1766, the last head (starosta) of the Borcke county and the first head of Regenwalde county. In 1787 Wilhelm Friedrich Leopold von Borcke died here, who had run the Borcke county since 1770.

What remains

By the ruin stand the remains of farm buildings with stone perimeter walls, reaching the height of the roof truss, and a naturalistic park from the 18th/19th century covering 6.5 ha with old trees.
