A town hall from 1890 on Wałcz's market square, with a bay window at the corner and a neo-Baroque turret.
The town hall in Wałcz was built in 1890 at the corner of Plac Wolności, the market square. Today it is the seat of the town authorities. It is a brick building entered in the heritage register, with a neo-Baroque turret that has become the symbol of the building.
The heritage register gives the style as neo-Renaissance, while the Wikipedia entry calls it eclectic. The town hall has two storeys and a cellar, and the ground floor is rusticated. The storeys are separated by a wide string course, and the ground-floor windows have triangular or semicircular pediments. The most interesting feature is the three-bay corner with an oriel on the first floor, supported on corbels. The roof is a gable roof of sheet metal, with dormers and two triangular gables. The turret has a gloriette and a helm ending in a weathervane.
Close by stand the Church of St Nicholas and the Wałcz Land Museum.
