A museum devoted to Baltic amber, with demonstrations of processing and workshops for groups.
The Amber Museum in Kołobrzeg is located at Waryńskiego 5. The institution's website invites visitors on a journey from the prehistoric past to the present day, following the discoveries, legends and properties of amber, a fossil resin about 40 million years old, found on the Baltic coast for centuries.
Besides the exhibition, the museum runs workshops for groups of all ages, during which it shows live the techniques of processing amber, old and modern. The website also carries information about new exhibits.
In the area lie the Brunswick Palace, about 300 metres away, and the Co-Cathedral Basilica, about 500 metres.
