About Historical Room in Pełczyce

A town museum in the cellars of a community centre in Pełczyce, with Lusatian culture finds and mementoes from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Historical Room in Pełczyce is a town museum in the cellars of the Town and Municipal Cultural Centre building. It opened in December 2013 thanks to members of the Association of Friends of the Pełczyce Land, who gathered most of the collections. The exhibition occupies two rooms.

Collections

Among the exhibits are archaeological finds from the Lusatian culture period, including stone querns, parts of weapons and everyday objects. A second group consists of historical mementoes, mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries: coins and medals, militaria and decorations, photographs, illustrations, postcards, publications and documents, furniture and farm tools.

Practical information

  • The museum is open all year round on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Check the hours with the organiser before your visit, because the room's official website was not available.
  • Pełczyce also has the Cistercian nuns' convent, the town hall and Lake Panieńskie.
