A military museum in Mirosławiec with a diorama of the battles to break the Pomeranian Wall and a display of weapons.
The Museum of the Battles for the Pomeranian Wall in Mirosławiec is a military museum devoted to the history of fighting in Central Pomerania over the course of history. It is housed in the building of the Municipal Cultural Centre at Parkowa 1. It was opened on 16 March 1985, with the cooperation of, among others, the Polish Army.
The first room holds exhibits connected with the struggles for Polishness from the Piast period to the post-partition period, the second those that concern the People's Polish Army. The central point is a diorama measuring 9 by 3.3 m, showing the battles to break the Pomeranian Wall in the Mirosławiec area. The museum also has a collection of weapons, shown indoors and in the open-air display, where there are cannon, a howitzer and a T-34-85 tank on a plinth, commemorating those who fell in the battles to break the Pomeranian Wall.
Mirosławiec was taken on 10 February 1945 by the 1st Polish Army. After the war the town's population was expelled and replaced by Polish resettlers. Nearby stands the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, about 400 m from the museum.
