About Palace in Bród

A villa-style palace with a mansard roof, with a 3.6-hectare English park with ponds and a fountain.

Bród Palace is a manor house in the form of a town villa, entered in the heritage register in 1984. It stands in a village in the Ińsko Lakeland, in Chociwel municipality, 4.5 km north of Chociwel.

The building and park

According to the Encyclopedia of West Pomerania, the building was erected in the early 20th century on a square plan, with a mansard roof and rusticated corners. The heritage register gives the second half of the 19th century and the Neo-Baroque style. The Encyclopedia writes that the building is being renovated and that the historic interior fittings have not survived. Nearby are farm buildings and an English park of 3.6 ha with two ponds, a fountain and a family cemetery. From the 18th century until 1945 the village belonged to the von Wedel family.

Nearby

About 200 m from the palace stands the Church of Sts Peter and Paul the Apostles.
