Things to do in Jarosławiec: a lighthouse with a viewing terrace, the Amber Museum, an aquapark and three places for children, some for rain.
Jarosławiec is a seaside village where, next to the lighthouse and the museum, there is a good deal for families. That way the weather does not decide your day: on rainy days you have several options under a roof.
What to see in Jarosławiec in one day by the sea?
For one day choose the lighthouse, the amber museum and either the aquapark or the rope park, depending on the age of the children. The lighthouse stands in the very centre of the village, so it is easy to combine with the rest of the programme.
The Jarosławiec Lighthouse at Szkolna 1 is a brick tower, 33.3 metres tall, dating from 1838 and open to visitors. From the terrace at the top you can see the village and the surroundings. Today's tower is the second structure on the spot, because the first, built in 1829-1832, proved too low. Its story is developed in the article Jarosławiec: two towers, one never lit, and the AGA lamp of 1975. For the wider coast, see The lighthouses of the West Pomeranian coast in order.
The Amber Museum in Jarosławiec at Nadmorska 1b is a private institution opened in 2014. It has three permanent exhibitions: a reconstruction of an amber forest and the origin of Baltic amber, a reconstruction of an underground amber mine, and an inclusions room with organisms trapped in amber. It is a good stop for rain.
What to do in Jarosławiec with children when it rains?
With children and in the rain you have three choices: the aquapark, the play room and, in better weather, the rope park. All lie within the village, so getting there does not take long. A fuller list is on the pages Jarosławiec for families and Jarosławiec in the rain.
The Panorama Morska Aquapark at Uzdrowiskowa 15 belongs to the Health Resort & Medical SPA complex. In the summer season it also admits guests from outside the resort. The pools cover about 1,700 square metres in total: outside is a pool with an artificial wave and slides, inside a pool with a rapid river and the Wodna Bajka paddling pool for the youngest. The website lists ten slides, a steam-bath grotto and a wellness zone with a jacuzzi.
Funky Plaza at Słoneczna 10A is a play room with an animator, creative workshops, group games and a ball pool. Children make squishy toys and bracelets and play Family Feud or charades. The offer also covers birthdays and sleepovers.
The Ju-Huu rope park belongs to the Ju-Huu chain and is meant mainly for children. It has four routes: green and blue for children aged 3-12, and purple and a zip-line course from age 12, set higher, at 5-8 metres. The park stands near the centre of the village and the lighthouse.
