What can you see in the centre of Mieszkowice?

The Church of the Transfiguration stands on the western side of the market square at Kościelna 2, its chancel facing the square. It was built at the end of the thirteenth century and is an example of early Gothic architecture, with neo-Gothic furnishings. The Baszta Prochowa (Powder Tower) is a fifteenth-century tower in the south-eastern corner of the outer defensive wall, with a gap cut through in 1875. The Church of the Holy Spirit, known locally as the church behind the tracks, was built in 1937, served as a warehouse after 1945 and was rebuilt in 2009-2011. Walls and town halls of neighbouring towns are described in the article on the small towns of the New March.
