Which walls and gates survive in Gryfice?
Gryfice kept sections of walls from the early 14th century, two gates and a tower. The route along them is short and runs along small streets by the Rega.
The defensive walls enclosed the old town in an oval about 650 metres long. Building began around 1300 in place of a palisade. Two gates remain: the Stone Gate from the 14th century in the northern part of the old town, now with guest rooms and a clock that plays a bugle call, and the High Gate from the 15th century at the southern edge. The latter holds a tourist information point and the Brama museum and gallery. In the north-east stands the Gunpowder Tower, a twin-cylinder tower with a viewing balcony made in 2007. All of this is compared in an article on the walls and gates of Gryfice, Trzebiatów, Goleniów and Gryfino.
