In the centre you find the market-square town hall plus two churches on Moniuszki Street. You can walk the stretch in an hour, stopping at each building.
The town hall stands at Rynek 6. The brick building of 1845 has the town's coat of arms over the entrance, and the local authority works inside. The Holy Trinity Church at Moniuszki 20 is known locally as the little church. Its squat field-stone mass was raised around 1400 on the hill of an old stronghold, and inside is a Baroque canopy altar. Next door, at 26a, stands the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, started in 1829 and designed by Schinkel as a Greek cross.
Lake Drawsko is the largest body of water in the Drawsko Lakeland and the main reason to come. Czaplinek is a base for sailors, kayakers, divers and anglers, but a solitary walk along the shore also makes sense.
