For rainy days Międzyzdroje offers two museums, a water park and a bison enclosure: four places for when the weather spoils the beach plan.
Three of the four places are under a roof, and the fourth, a forest enclosure, needs weather-ready clothing. Two carry the solo tag, so the set also helps people travelling alone. You can choose the Wax Figure Museum or the Nature Museum of the Wolin National Park. The first is open all year, the second has five rooms of dioramas.
The Wax Figure Museum is a private venue that, by its own site, has run since 1998 and presents some 110 wax likenesses, from film stars and politicians to artists and storybook heroes. The Nature Museum of the Wolin National Park stands at Niepodległości 3c on Filaretów Hill. The pavilion, opened in 1995, has five exhibition rooms: dioramas of birds, seals and bison, plus a geological section with amber.
Besides the museums there are the water park and the bison enclosure. The first has several pools and slides under a roof, the second is a walk into the forest, for which a raincoat is wise.
The water park at Bursztynowa 2 belongs to the Aqua Resort hotel and sells tickets to outside guests too. It has slides, a lazy river and saunas. The Bison Show Enclosure is tagged for rain, but the animals stand in the forest, so it suits drizzle rather than a downpour.
