Atmospheric places in Świnoujście: the harbour on the Świna, the tunnel under the river, the Piast Bridge and the Szolc-Rogoziński bench.

Świnoujście sits on islands, so its mood comes from water, crossings and the port. All four places carry the tag "for couples" and fit into a single walk or drive.

What to see by the Świna strait?

The Port of Świnoujście fills the central part of the town on both sides of the strait, on the Bay of Pomerania. Ferries, LNG tankers and yachts all have their own berths, and two breakwaters shield the entrance from the sea. Under the river bed runs the Świna Tunnel, running for 1.78 km, put into service on 30 June 2023 and joining the islands of Uznam and Wolin. The history of the crossings is covered in the article the Świna tunnel and crossings between the islands.

Where is the Piast Bridge?

The Piast Bridge links Karsibór island with Ognica on Wolin. It is 407 m long, opened in 2012 and spans the Stara Świna by the Piast Canal. The canal was dug in 1874-1880, so the spot has a longer past than the bridge itself.

Who was the man on the bench in Świnoujście?

The Stefan Szolc-Rogoziński Bench stands where his street meets Jachtowa street. It was placed in June 2023 without an official unveiling. Szolc-Rogoziński (1861-1896) was born in Kalisz and was a traveller and explorer of Cameroon.
