aquariums with sea fish, piranhas, rays and sharks in Kołobrzeg

Zoos in West Pomerania: bison enclosures on Wolin and in Jabłonowo, a butterfly house in Niechorze and an oceanarium in Kołobrzeg.

Four places with animals, each of a different kind: wild bison with wolves and sea eagles, exotic butterflies and aquariums with piranhas and sharks. Good for families, and the butterfly house and oceanarium for a rainy day.

Where to see bison in West Pomerania?

Zagroda Pokazowa Żubrów w Wolińskim PN (Bison Show Reserve in Wolin National Park) lies in the forest about 1.5 km from the centre of Międzyzdroje, roughly half an hour on foot. From the viewing platforms you watch the animals through a fence. Besides bison, wolves, deer, wild boar and sea eagles live here.

Zagroda Pokazowa Żubrów (Bison Show Reserve) in Jabłonowo, known as the Wild Enclosure, stands in the Mirosławiec municipality in Wałcz county. It is run by the West Pomeranian Nature Society, and the Wielki Bytyń nature reserve lies nearby.

Butterflies and sea creatures on the Baltic

Motylarnia (Butterfly House) in Niechorze at ul. Polna 30 offers a tropical atmosphere whatever the weather, and exotic butterflies fly freely right next to visitors. It stands beside the lighthouse, so the two pair up easily.

Oceanarium in Kołobrzeg is a modest display of tanks downtown, at Aleja I Armii Wojska Polskiego 6C. Piranhas, moray eels, rays, sharks and bright tropical fish swim in the tanks.
